This past weekend Rue Insurance employees participated in the 8th Annual Ryan’s Quest RQ5 to fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The event was held at Mercer County Park.
Bill Rue Jr., Danielle Torretta, Diane Pingicer, Ellen Saperstein, Gina Ludwig, and Robert Leonard walked, ran, and did cartwheels for 5 kilometers. Okay, I am exaggerating, they didn’t do cartwheels.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a deadly disease that causes muscles to suffer progressive damage over a period of time. It is diagnosed in boys between the ages of 3 to 7. Over time the boys will lose their ability to walk and eventually lose their lives to this disease. At present there is no known cure.
Ryan’s Quest is a 501(c)3 organization that uses money raised to help fund research into finding a cure for DMD. To find out more about Ryan’s Quest, check out their website at www.ryansquest.org
Rue Insurance is a proud sponsor of this event held by Ryan’s Quest
